I've always been very career driven - sometimes unhealthily so! As soon as I started working, I had one goal: A huge salary, a kick ass title and a corner office in a big building in Sandton. I worked tirelessy towards it, and finally in 2021 it happened. I was given the job of a lifetime as an HOD at an international corporate in Sandton. I got an amazing corner office with a breathtaking view of Morningside along with a generous budget to decorate my office.
I should have been filled with immense happiness, but inexplicably, it was an empty experience. I went home so upset that day, because why isn't this making me happy? It's what I've always wanted, right?
Turns out, real happiness can't be bought and it can't come in the form of a big title nor a corner office.
This colourway is a reflection on the interior I chose to decorate that corner office - gold and navy. It's a bittersweet goodbye to a previous life and a exciting hello to a new one!
